The Scuppernong Group was started to make a difference, with the belief that most mission-driven organizations are only one (or two) pieces away from really make a difference.
Both graduates of NC State, the path of Liz and Cody crossed and became intertwined from a shared hope of greater impact for a better world. Focusing on mission-driven organizations (501c3’s, B-Corps, Small Businesses, etc.), they’re sharing their leadership skills with the community as consultants for help and hire.

About Cody:
Cody Charland is a former pastor and surfing instructor with twenty years of non-profit leadership experience, an MATM from Fuller Seminary and an MBA from NC State University.
He’s held management and director roles with startups, corporations, and 501c3’s, specializing in strategy and marketing. He’s currently the Executive Director of Skate Raleigh, The Ambassador to Rostock, DE of Raleigh Sister Cities, and founder of Fuckup Nights Raleigh.
He has two boys, Amos (3) and Otto (2), and is married to Kate. He spends most of his free-time working on his 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon.
About Liz:
Liz Ruf is an accomplished marketing strategist and nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience across diverse industries - from high
er education and startups to agencies and nonprofits. Formerly the President of AMA Triangle, she now serves on the Nourish International board, using her MPA and firsthand expertise to drive impact.
When she’s not working, you can find Liz dancing at concerts, practicing yoga, sipping craft brews, or spending time with her husband Matt and two bonus daughters.
